Mathematics is a combination of concepts, facts, properties, rules, patterns and processes. The school is currently following the new National Curriculum for Mathematics that was introduced in 2014.

To ensure all children learn effectively, teachers adopt a broad repertoire of teaching and organisational approaches.  Children will be encouraged to support one another in group work, to share their ideas and to explain their reasoning and methods. Children will have opportunities to practise and apply their reasoning and problem solving skills to solve real life problems across the whole of the curriculum.

Above all, we want our children to love Maths and be confident mathematicians. We want to make mathematics an interesting and challenging area of study where all children are successful and develop a depth of understanding that will form a firm foundation for the future.
