Mr Bladon
I have been the Headteacher of Horncastle Primary School since September 2017, when I relocated to the area from Lancashire, where I had lived and worked for 22 years.
I trained at St Martin’s College, Lancaster, and specialised in Early Years Education. I qualified in 1999 and taught Reception and Year 2 in several Blackburn with Darwen schools. During my earlier career, I have served as EYFS and Key Stage One Leader, Assistant Headteacher and Acting Deputy Headteacher. I have also lectured on trainee teacher programmes at the University of Cumbria.
In 2011, I took on my first Headship at Cedars Infant School, a three form entry multi-cultural school in the heart of Blackburn. I led the major expansion of the school in 2013, when it doubled in size and became Cedars Primary School.
Out of school, I enjoy spending time with my family; my four children keep me very busy! I’m a keen runner, music lover and fan of stand-up comedy. I’m also rather partial to biscuits.

Mrs Cox
I joined Horncastle Primary as Deputy Headteacher in September 2018, when I relocated with my family from Colchester in Essex.
I trained to be a teacher at Roehampton Institute in London, with subject specialisms of English and Maths. I qualified in 1999 and starting teaching a Year 5/6 class in the London Borough of Harrow. After I had taught for two years, I took a year out to travel Australia. Along the way, I did several jobs including working on a banana farm!
When I returned to England, I moved to Lincoln where I taught for 8 years. During that time, I married and had my first child. We relocated as a family to Essex where I worked in a newly opened primary school and saw it grow from 78 to 420 pupils.
During my time as a teacher I have taught every year group form Year 1 to Year 7, have led several subjects and Key Stages, been a Deputy Headteacher in three schools and an Acting Headteacher.
Out of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two children. I love reading, watching reality TV shows and I am a huge Take That fan!

Mrs Leak
I have been lucky enough to teach at Horncastle Primary School for 30 years, starting my career as a Newly Qualified Teacher and I am now teaching the children of some of my past pupils which is just lovely! Over my 30 years, I have taught across the school and now as Assistant Head I still enjoy getting into classes and chatting to the children which still makes me smile. I went to university in Wales and then returned back to Lincolnshire to start teaching. I am Welsh and if your child comes home singing ‘Happy Birthday’ in Welsh, it was probably me who taught them!
One of my passions, both in and out of school is singing and over the years I have led many choirs and we have been lucky enough to sing at Lincoln Cathedral, the Lincolnshire Show and most recently at the Fly Arena Sheffield through the Young Voices Project. Singing I believe is good for the heart and soul and most importantly confidence.
Outside of school, I am kept busy with family life. I am married and have one daughter. In my spare time I like to meet friends for coffee, this usually includes cake, and walk my labradoodle, who is also quite partial to cake!

Mrs Greenfield
I have been the Interim Inclusion Leader since September 2021, following a secondment as Head Teacher at Tetney Primary School. Prior to that, I worked at Toynton All Saints Primary School for 14 years, where I started as a Class Teacher, before becoming the SENDCo and then Deputy Head Teacher.
Whilst working at Toynton All Saints, I undertook the SENDCo position at both Halton Holegate and St Helena’s Willoughby. I currently also work at Partney C of E Primary School. In addition to these positions, I am also a Specialist Lead in Education for SEND and an Evidence Lead in Education. I often support and train other schools, both within and outside of Lincolnshire, in evidence-based teaching and learning strategies, in a number of different areas of the curriculum.
I am a Mum to three girls and this year we added Molly, our gorgeous Jackapoo puppy, to the family. I love taking my girls (Molly included), for walks on the beach. If I ever find a moment to myself, I enjoy reading or going out for a coffee.

Mrs Jones
I officially joined Horncastle Primary in September 2019, after a few weeks ‘temping’ in the school office.
Before working here, I was lucky enough to take an extended break from work to raise my family. My eldest son went to school here and my two daughters attend now.
This was my first office role since having my family and prior to having children I worked for six years as PA to the Chief Executive of The East Midlands Development Agency. Before that, I was a Sales Manager for a brewery.
I spend most of my day either running backwards and forward around school or with a phone stuck to my ear. Hobbies – drinking tea, eating biscuits, waving at children.
.

Mrs Kimber
I joined the admin team at Horncastle Primary in December 2021 and overall have 5 years experience of working within a school office.

Mrs Morley

Miss Taylor
I have been at Horncastle Primary since March 2021. My role is within the office team as an office apprentice, but you can find me being needed all over the school. No two days are the same for me and that is what makes my job so enjoyable.
Outside of school time, I enjoy baking cakes and spending time in the garden. I have two girls who are aged 4 and 5 and they both love to make messy pictures with pens, paints and anything else they can find to stick to it. We love to go on family walks around the countryside when the weather is nice.

I have worked at Horncastle Primary since 2017 & have been the Pupil Well-being Lead, a newly created post here, since 2019.

Outside of work, I prioritise spending time with family & friends & staying fit & healthy, especially enjoying yoga & walking. I have a great love of travel (somewhat curtailed of late) & since childhood have always been a bit of a bookworm!

Mr Walker
I have certainly taken a winding road to the position of Y6 class teacher in Horncastle Primary School. After graduating from university, I made the decision to watch the 2002 World Cup in South Korea. I found the experience so fabulous, that I decided to live in Korea for the next ten years!
While I was in Korea, I worked at various English academies including the rather prestigious Anyang Foreign Language High School. I lived in the Seoul district of Gangnam during this time and indeed I like to think I had Gangnam Style! I then opened my own English school in the city of Daejeon, about 100 miles south of the North Korean border. Managing my own school was a very rewarding life experience.
I came back to England in 2012 after a decade of being far from home. I qualified from Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln. After graduating, I worked in all year groups ranging from Nursery to Year 6. I joined Horncastle Primary school in 2019 and have been working in Year 6 ever since.
Away from the classroom, I am an avid follower of Everton and Southport FC. I also love watching Formula 1 and have been to Silverstone many times! To slow things down, I like nothing better than a good game of chess. My claim to fame is that I once met Paul Daniels. That’s magic!
Mrs Cannon
Being from Horncastle, I have both attended and seen my four children come through this amazing school.
I originally became a midday supervisor and then moved on to being a supply teaching assistant. In 2007, I trained in Reception for my Cache Level 2 Certificate in Child Care and Education and qualified with a distinction.
Then, I had an opportunity to apply for a job working in KS2; I am a still here 16 years later! While being in school, I have completed many courses and gained many different qualifications.
I am currently working in Year 6 and enjoying the challenges that each new day bring.

Mrs Thomas
I have had the privilege of working as a teaching assistant at Horncastle primary school for nearly 8 years and I absolutely love being part of the children’s learning and ensuring they have happy smiles every day! Everyone who knows me knows that I always have a smile on my face and I’m generally very happy! Education is a lovely thing to be a part of and I hope to make the children feel safe and happy whilst they are here in our school.
When I’m in school, I really love engaging in the children’s lessons and working with my 1-1. I have worked with him since reception and he is now in Y6 so you can imagine, I am not looking forward to saying goodbye in the summer where he will continue his new journey into secondary school! When I first started, I worked with another boy in Y4 and saw him through to Y6 which was fantastic as I loved seeing him blossom and learn.
During my time here, I have had training in Lego Therapy which is something I am passionate about! I run Lego Therapy sessions with children of different year groups twice a week and I adore it. The best part is seeing the children’s faces during the sessions and seeing who well they all engage! All that’s missing is a cup of tea!
Over the years I have run Cross Country clubs, Lego and chess clubs during lunchtimes or after school.
When I’m not in school, I absolutely love being with my three children and taking them for days out, watching movies, walks in the woods or going to the Kinema in the woods. This is also a place I happen to work at over the weekend and I absolutely love it! I am also passionate about home design and will usually be tinkering with my home. Whether it be redecorating a room or simply upcycling something to make it beautiful, I love to enhance my home for my children. I am blessed to have a lot of amazing friends and I usually meet them for dinners out, coffees, Kinema, live gigs and days out which makes me very happy indeed. Life is pretty good!
Mrs Rawdon
I joined Horncastle primary school in 2017, previously I had worked in a local additional needs school within their boarding wing as a residential care officer from 2006. Here I supported youngsters with life skills, learning and behavioural support. When the wing closed, I moved into their school as a TA, where I remained until I had my first child.
My previous role helped me understand and learn strategies when working with children with additional needs and challenging behaviour both in a school and a home setting. I wanted a new challenge when I returned to work after having my daughter and I had never worked in a mainstream school before.
When I’m not at work I enjoy simply being a mother to my two children and spending time with my family. I love holidays in the sunshine, music and movies.
Miss Austin
I have been a teacher at Horncastle Primary school since September 2018, after completing both my Undergraduate Degree, in Education Studies and Psychology, and my PGCE at Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln. I have spent my four years at Horncastle Primary School teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, beginning in Year 5 and then moving to Year 6.
Before moving to Lincoln to train as a teacher, I lived in Cromer, Norfolk – I’ve spent plenty of hours on the beach and am pretty skilled at saving my chips from the seagulls.
Out of school, I enjoy getting to spend time with my family. I am a Great British Bake Off lover and like to spend my weekends baking new things. I also enjoy watching films; a particular favourite being Harry Potter!

I have lately taken on the role as “Wellbeing Champion” of Horncastle Primary School within the Wellspring Trust, which I am looking forward to.
Out of school I run the local 1st Horncastle Beavers Group which I really enjoy doing and have been an active member of 1st Horncastle Scout Group for over 35 + years from being a child member to now a leader. I like music especially Northern soul and 60`s, cooking, camping/ caravanning and arranging nights out.

I have worked at Horncastle Primary for almost 14 years after completing my childcare course where I did a placement in Nursery. An opportunity came for me to support a child new to the school and from there I have continued to work in KS2.
I have also been a Midday Supervisor in the past and a Bus Supervisor until recently. I currently work in Year 6 and it has been a pleasure to watch the children grow from being with them since Year 3.
Out of school, I enjoy spending time with family, my four children (young adults now) and friends. I’ve recently joined the gym and love chocolate. I am probably best known for always laughing.

I first started my job as a lunchtime supervisor in 2018 after leaving my job as a cleaner. It fit in so well round my two children who were young at the time.
I love my job. I get to work with brilliant work colleagues and amazing children. There is never a dull moment.
I’m a mum to two teenagers so if they aren’t too cool to spend time with me, we love to watch movies or make memories as a family.
If I’m not spending time with my kids you will find me designing tattoos or cleaning.
Mrs Ashton

I joined Horncastle Primary School in 2018 as a Lunchtime Supervisor alongside by Team Leader role at the Coop, where I have been for over 20 years. I progressed to Senior Lunchtime Supervisor at Horncastle Primary School the year after joining.
When I am not busy working or being mum to 3 special little humans, I enjoy spending my spare time reading or being busy in my garden.
Miss Jackson
I have worked here at school since 2017 after leaving my career in Travel. I have done various jobs here up to now Breakfast Club and Cleaning.
I am from Essex originally and I think my accent keeps some of the children entertained, I moved this way in 2002. I enjoy working with the children and love it when you’re out and about and children see you; it’s like your famous!
I have 2 children of my own and they do keep me busy being girls and with all my other interests of reptiles and other animals at home I am kept fairly busy most of the time.
Mr Johnson
I joined Horncastle Primary School in 2019 as a lunchtime supervisor.
When I’m not working I spend my time with my family.
Mrs Robinson
Mrs Scowen
I have worked at Horncastle Primary for almost 29 years. I began my time here filling in for a week at lunchtime, and a week later I was offered a full-time position.
After volunteering to help with a young boy in reception, I was asked if I would like a permanent job in the classroom as a 1-1, supervising this child, and went on to work with many others over the next 25 years, while still doing my lunchtime duties.
In May this year, I took the decision to give up my TA role to spend more time helping to care for my elderly dad, but I wasn’t ready to give up altogether, so kept my lunchtime job on.
My time in school has gone full circle, but I now have the chance to sit back a bit and relax, and enjoy time with my family.
Mrs Taylor
I have been a Midday Supervisor for more than 20 years; I previously worked in school as a teaching assistant.
I am also employed at Tesco as a grocery assistant.
Mrs Williams
I joined Horncastle primary school in 2018 as a lunchtime supervisor. Previously I worked caring for the elderly, if I could make their day easier I’d feel a sense of achievement. Likewise, when working with children if I can put a smile on their face then I’ve achieved what I’m here to do.
In my spare time, I like spending time with my family, watching films and the odd weekend away in my little caravan.
