Welcome to Horncastle Community Primary School
Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust

Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust

In September 2013 and 2014 the Government have promised to give each primary school a sum of money to be spent on sports provision. The money can be spent on coaches, competition, transport and teaching cover.

Using some of the money we have joined the Greenwood Dale Foundation Trust, along with many other schools in the local area.

The eagerly awaited Tower Trail is now open, with all classes enjoying sessions on the equipment at break and lunchtimes.

Read about the official opening below, as detailed by Miss K. Christie, School Governor.

I wanted to share with you all that a few of us attended the official opening of the Tower Trail at School on Tuesday morning.

Representatives of the Muckerjee Trust and ourselves were treated to a celebration and the eagerly anticipated 'first play' of the Tower Trail.  Hosted by the School Council the event was attended by the whole of Key Stage 2 in the sunshine complete with helium balloons and ribbon dutifully cut by the youngest and the oldest pupils of KS2.

The Chairs of the school council read the attached letter eloquently over the school PA and the press and Mrs Roberts took an abundance of photos which we will hopefully get to see soon.

It was a great event that made it clear just how thrilled they are with their equipment and we should feel very proud of the work we did to raise the immense funds.

Very well done to all our supportive members.

The Governing Body and Staff extend to you a warm welcome and hope that your association with the school will prove to be a positive and rewarding experience. The Governors and Staff are committed in their common aim - that of securing the full potential of all pupils according to age, aptitude and ability - in a caring, safe and happy environment

The Governing Body represents a variety of interests as listed in the Prospectus. Together with the Staff they have the common purpose to provide the best possible education for the children of the Horncastle Community Primary School. Governors work closely with staff and parents to achieve this end.

The Minutes and Agendas of Governors' Meetings are publicly displayed at the school and a Report for Parents is published annually by the Governors.

We trust that all parents and friends will take the opportunity to support and develop the educational provision of the school.

Best Wishes,

J. McCarroll - Chair of the Governors

A. H. Craven - Headteacher
