Our school is focused on what goals we can achieve in order to improve. Our improvement and development plan for 2020/21 maps out the targets and priorities for our improvement.
Our plan is broken down into 3 main objectives:
1: To raise attainment and accelerate pupils' progress thorough the meticulous delivery of our curriculum with improved quality first teaching.
Some of the main actions to achieve this will be:
- Reviewing our school curriculum (inc. RSE)
- Introduce Read Write Inc. phonics scheme
- Introduce the White Rose maths scheme
- Establish In the Moment Planning in our EYFS
- Establish networks for sharing good practice across schools
2: To continue to improve the overall effectiveness of leadership and management.
Some of the main actions to achieve this will be:
- Continue to develop a robust cycle of quality assurance
- Appoint substantive Phase Leaders to Upper and Lower KS2
- Senior and Middle Leaders to undertake NPQ.. qualifications if appropriate
- Continue to develop the effective ness of Pupil Progress Meetings, especially the 'what now?' element
- Coaching and training provided for Subject Leaders
3: To prioritise pupil well-being, ensuring a safe and positive return to school (following the pandemic) and enabling all pupils to thrive.
Some of the main actions to achieve this will be:
- Use of the 'Bounce Back' programme to ensure pupils are given the tools they need to develop resilience and re-engage with regular schooling
- Train key members of staff in Mental Health First Aid
- Year group Recovery Action Plans in place and regularly reviewed
- Accurate assessment of children to allow all pupils to make good progress from their starting points
- A robust Remote Learning plan that will mirror as closely as possible the curriculum and approaches used in school
