RE (Religious Education)

RE gives children the opportunity to find out about religion and other cultures in order to help them to reflect, develop and refine their own beliefs, values and perceptions. We aim to give pupils an awareness of the different religious traditions to be found in Britain whilst maintaining a broad base of Christianity. Our RE teaching is without denominational bias. It is taught discretely as well as through other subjects including philosophy.
We encourage our children to develop tolerance and respect of others' views whilst being secure in the knowledge that their own views, opinions and feelings will be valued.

Parents may request that their children be wholly or partly excused from receiving religious education. Such a request should be made in writing to our Headteacher.
