Monday: Runner Beans with Mrs Thomas. 3:30 - 4:15, for Year 2. Mini-cross country club for children to come and do lots of running, warm-ups, stretches and games.
Monday: Dance Club with Miss Fox. 3:30 - 4:15, for Years 5 and 6. Practicing routines to pop music in a jazz/modern style.
Tuesday: Chess Club with Mrs Thomas. 12:30 - 1:00, for Years 5 and 6. Learning chess skills, applying strategies and making new friends.
Thursday: Fitness Club with JB Sports. 8:00 - 8:40, for all children. Taking part in a range of fitness activities and mixing with pupils from all across the school.
Thursday: Coding Club with Mr Hyde and volunteers from Mortons Printers. 3:30 - 4:30, for Year 6 by invitation only (due to limited amount of hardware). Learning how to apply coding skills from school to program BBC Microbits.
Thursday: Tri-Golf with JB Sports. 3:30 - 4:30, for Years 5 and 6. Learning the rules of this fun version of golf and applying to games!
Friday: Homework Club with Mrs Barnes in 4SB. 12:20 - 1:15, for Years 3 to 6. This club enables children to complete homework during school time, if necessary, with Mrs Barnes available to offer support and assistance.
Friday: Mindfulness Club with Miss Campbell in her classroom. 12:45 - 1:15, for EYFS and Key Stage 1 children. A range of colouring activities and stationery will be available - pupils can come and go as they please from the playground, and enjoy spending some time relaxing!
Friday: Netball with Miss Gladding. 3:30 - 4:30, for Years 5 and 6. Learning teamwork and skills for playing games and preparing for local competitions.
JB Sports are also running Year 5 and 6 football team training on Monday lunch times. Children have taken part in trials for this as spaces are limited.
Cross country club:
This club runs every Wednesday after school from September - November and March - June (we avoid cold and hot weather!), led by Mrs Thomas.
The club gives the children a great opportunity to learn and practise different skills for sprinting, lap running, relays and stretching exercises. We train very hard to prepare for competitions, which are fantastic experiences for confidence building and positive sportsmanship.
We also play games together to warm up and have plenty of fun. Lots of encouragement and praise is given to make sure there are always smiling faces!
